Enrico Maisto was born in Milan in 1988. In 2008 he took part as a trainee director in the shooting of the Marco Bellocchio’s movie Vincere. On this occasion he produced the movies backstage: this was his first approach to the documentary genre. In 2015 he won the Premio Solinas Documentary for The Call, which was selected in competition at IDFA and won the prize Best Mid-Length Documentary at HotDocs 2018. In 2021 his feature documentary The Age of Innocence was awarded as Best Italian Documentary at 62nd Festival dei Popoli. The film was distributed by Wanted Cinema.
